I began my career in the mental health field in 2006. Over the years, I have worked in a variety of clinical settings including inpatient, outpatient, residential, private practice, and academia. I have extensive training in trauma-informed care, the ARC framework, and I am certified in Traumatic Stress Studies.
Throughout my career, I have participated in several different styles of supervision, all of which have been beneficial, whether it be for personal growth or higher learning. However, trauma-informed supervision has been the most impactful and supportive supervision to date. I hope to share this meaningful experience with mental health providers and agencies to reduce burn out and promote emotional health and wellbeing.
What is Trauma Informed Supervision? Trauma-informed supervision, consultation, and training is a partnership between supervisor/supervisee and or administrators/staff. Trauma-informed supervision and work culture provides ongoing support to safely examine vicarious trauma, support professional growth, and encourage learning and career opportunities. Clinical supervision is equally as important as client treatment and should be viewed that way. Today, I treat a small caseload of clients at a private practice, supervise LMHC clinicians and interns throughout central mass and teach graduate courses at Bay Path University. When I’m not working, I enjoy traveling, dancing, and spending time with my family and our rescue dog, Preshie. I also teach dance to kids (and my nieces!) at Dance Works Academy in Upton, MA.
